I think Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitar player ever because apart from the fact that he had a raw, unique sound,he made playing the guitar look like the coolest thing in the world!Plus he did things his own way, most of the chords he used where unique to him.
Jimi Hendrix from november 27,1942 - September 18,1970 was the greatest and most influential guitarists in the history of rock music,he got his initial success in England and then went on to dominate the rest of the world!Greenwood Memorial Park is a cemetery in Renton, Washington. This guy taught himself, thus creating his own, and still original style. Mad props to the man.

The one thing that makes Hendrix stand out as "The Greatest Guitar Player Of All Time" is not only what he did but WHEN he did it.
Having lived at the time when Jimi emerged on to the music scene I can tell you, before Mr. Hendrix, everyone sounded the same.
It was as if he invented a whole new instrument. Eric Claptons first words after hearing Jimi for the first time was, "Well, I'll never play guitar again." luckily he didn't keep that promise but you get the picture.
Another amazing thing was Jimi's insecurity as a guitarist. When he wasn't playing, he wasn't sure if people would like his style and when he was playing...well, he was somewhere other than here.

Although I wouldn't say THE ablsolute best, he does have some dang groovy songs out there, and then some. He's gone down in history with quite a record! If only he had lived longer...

Although he is definetly up there with the best he was not the best in my opinion. Stevie Ray Vaughn absolutely whoops his butt.

Jimi Hendrix probably said a lot of crazy stuff throughout his life, here are just a few quotes from the great guitar god!
The Fender Stratocaster is an amazing guitar!
Apart from being very versatile guitar for beginners and advanced guitarists alike, the fact that Jimi Hendrix Favoured them is reason enough in my book to buy one:)

Almost got to see him at the Fillmore East New Years Eve ushering in 1970 as a Band of Gypsies with Buddy Miles and Billy Cox which was, as you probably know, recorded live originally as "A Band of Gypsies" (LP). Wish I had been there (sigh......) Posted January 16, 2008 |

His creativity alone would be inspiration enough (If 6 were 9, Castles Made of Sand, Little Wing - the imagery in his lyrics is amazing)... Posted December 22, 2007 |
